AEF Gives $51,000 to Support Education in APS
The Aurora Education Foundation is awarding more than $32,000 for creative and relevant education initiatives for the 2005-06 school year through its grants program. Additionally, AEF is awarding $19,000 to deserving APS teachers and staff members pursuing degrees that will enhance classroom instruction and professional skills to support APS. The scholarsips are funded through the recent "Savor the Flavor" event and two business partnerships.

For example:
The Educator Achievement Initiative Grant written for resource room funding at Iowa Elementary School was selected by AEF for $6,000. The money will purchase books for the diverse interests, abilities and need of Iowa's students. The new acquistions will be easy to find and use in Iowa's new resource room. staff and students will all benefit from the books. Thank you, AEF!

AEF, a 501 (c)(3) tax-exempt, non-profit Colorado corporation, has as its primary role to assist Aurora Public Schools (APS). An advocate for quality education, AEF fosters active community support for APS and ensures that post-secondary tuition is available to APS faculty, staff and students. AEF also secures resources to support innovative classroom initiatives for which federal, state and local funding is unavailable and/or insufficient.
