APS, AEF and Kroenke Sports Network Team Up for Kids

Century Elementary students participated in a book drive recently that brought in 2,500 books. As a reward for the tremendous effort of students, the school earned an appearance from former Denver Nugget Mark Randall. Randall talked to students about the importance of reading. The drive was sponsored by the Aurora Education Foundation and Kroenke Sports.

Fifth-grade students donated the most books and earned an extra reward.  They will have the opportunity to participate in basketball skills clinics with two NBA players. Individual students who brought in the most books received free tickets to a Denver Nuggets game.

Century Elementary fifth-grader Samantha was ecstatic. "The 5th grade won!  I was so excited.  And, I won tickets to see the Nuggets," she said.

The books will be donated to the Reach and Read program for health clinics in the metro area.
