Elkhart students played piano and sang to a group of over 200 students, parents and staff members who gathered for an address from Superintendent Barry on Dec. 6. |
| Barry spoke to parents about VISTA 2010, the district’s strategic plan. He invited parents to support students’ success and shared the importance of creating a safe environment for students to learn. |
| Barry encouraged parents to support their student's success while promoting respect, integrity, compassion, diversity and excellence. He also asked parents to continue to talk to their children about the importance of college. |
|
| Barry asked students what they want to be when they grow up. “I want to be a teacher,” said Elkhart student Jori. “I want to be on the SWAT team,” said Elkhart student Gabriel. |
“How are you going to do that?” asked Barry. Students cheered “We’re going to go to college!” |
| Barry ended the night by chanting “Elkhart!” and students replying “Pick up the pace!” |
