Fletcher Students Get a "Kick" Out of Rapids Visit
Fletcher Elementary School students recently learned teamwork firsthand from Colorado Rapids players Eric Denton and Stephen Keel. The players led an enthusiastic, interactive program for students as part of the Rapids School Assembly Program.
The players encouraged the students to excel in school and reminded them that they can do and be anything they want to when they grow up. The students learned soccer techniques, received autographs, and took pictures with the athletes.

Fletcher students are eager to be able to apply what they learned from the Rapids on their own turf. The school's first soccer field will be built and ready for the 2006-07 school year.

The students were excited about meeting the players and enjoyed the opportunity to ask the players questions about their careers.
“Our students were so excited to meet role models such as these athletes that they see on television. It’s great that the players emphasized the value of teamwork. That’s an important message that our teachers share with students.”
