Students at Jewell Elementary paid tribute to “Old Glory” recently during an assembly. The students now have a new flag hanging in their gym, thanks to APS Board of Education President and Jewell parent Matt Cook and his wife, Laurie.
“Although there were flags in classrooms and in front of the building, we noticed that there was not a flag in the gym and decided to do something about it.”

APS Board President
The Cooks wrote to Congressman Bob Beauprez and requested a special flag for Jewell. The congressman sent the school a flag that had flown in Washington D.C. over the Capitol Building.
