Lansing Elementary Kicks off School Year with Family, Food and Fun!
Lansing Elementary kicked off the school year with a community barbeque. Students had an opportunity to meet their new teachers and share what they did over the summer break. Students also had their faces painted, created sidewalk chalk art, listened to music and enjoyed great food. Parents met their children’s teachers and received information on how to become more involved with the school.

Students enjoyed snow cones to cool down on the hot summer day.
It was also a great way to bring the community together. Aurora City Councilman Larry Beer and St. Luke’s Episcopal Church Father Doug Dunn grilled hot dogs for the guests.
