The third annual Family and Community Involvement Workshop was held recently at Aurora Hills Middle School. Parents, community members and staff came together to learn how to help students become successful.
APS Board of Education President Matt Cook opened the event and Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources Tony Van Gytenbeek delivered the keynote address.
The District Accountability Advisory Committee and the APS Diversity Education Department sponsored the event.
The workshop featured sessions on several topics including:
how to help students with homework
the future of education in APS
how to strengthen school neighborhoods
how to be an active member of parent organizations
