These five women go back "a ways." Actually, they go back "a long ways." They are celebrating their 30-year class reunion from Wheeling Elementary School.

Kristin Drnec-Vigil, Nina Drnec-Whyte, Teri Dwyer-Eastin, Theresa Trollinger and Sheri Willan-Berry attended Wheeling together from kindergarten through fifth grade, from 1971-1976. Dr. Anita Tjarks was principal at the time.

"We were very close at Wheeling. Our 20-year class reunions at our respective high schools triggered the idea to have our own elementary school reunion.”

Even though many things have changed for these women-- college, marriage, degrees, children-- the friendships they forged in elementary school have remained constant.

Many of them have stayed in the Aurora area and have kept in touch. Ironically, most of their parents still live only blocks away from Wheeling, in the same houses they grew up in as children.
