Car Winterization for Senior Citizens
Students in the Pickens Tech Automotive Technology program hosted a car winterization program for Aurora senior citizens.

"This project was a great success that allowed our students to give back to the community. We hope to be able to offer this program in the future," - teacher Ed Wilson.

The Gateway Rotary Club and local businesses provided financial support for the project.

Twenty-three students and their instructors were on hand to check vital fluids, lights, wipers, and tires of cars for seniors and others who dropped by, to get them ready for the Colorado winters.

With consumer costs rising and many seniors struggling to make ends meet on fixed incomes, the winterizing project seemed a natural fit and allowed APS students to give back to the community.
