| Due to overcrowding at two Aurora Public Schools (APS) elementary schools, the APS Board of Education has approved a boundary change that will affect families at Park Lane, Montview, Arkansas and Side Creek elementary schools.
The Board of Education and District administration considered this matter extensively. They agree it was necessary to change the boundaries to provide students the best learning environment learning.
Beginning in the fall of 2003, students who live in the Foxdale and Sun Chase apartments will now be attending Arkansas Elementary School instead of Side Creek Elementary School. Students in the area north of 23rd Avenue between Peoria and the easement between Joliet and Jamaica will attend Park Lane Elementary School instead of Montview Elementary School.

Why was this boundary change necessary?
Due to overcrowded conditions at Montview and Side Creek, a boundary change was necessary in order to provide your child the best learning experience possible. Resources will be available to better meet your child’s educational needs by alleviating this crowding.
Can we visit the new school?
Absolutely! Schools will provide an orientation night for you and your child. Specific information will be released soon.
In addition to the orientation, you are welcome to visit the school any time we are open. Please call the school office to arrange a personal visit.

Will there be activities to welcome my child to their new school?
This summer your child will receive information about how to adjust to a new school.
Your child will also be welcomed in the fall at “Back-to-School Night.”
Will this affect the middle school that my child attends?
At this time, no middle school boundary changes have been implemented.
What do I need to do in order to register my child at the new school?
The District will transfer all previous enrollment information. You simply need to bring your child to the new school in the fall.
