The mission of the Gateway Science Department is to prepare students to be well-informed citizens and leaders in a world that is increasingly shaped by science and technology.  Based on the Aurora Public Schools and Gateway High School values, the science programs aim to instill all students an understanding of, and a life-long enthusiasm for, the process of scientific discovery.  The department is committed to innovation and excellence in the science programs, and to preparing courses to enable students to enter college or a career meeting future local, national, and global needs.

We offer Physical Science, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Energy Resources in the Environment, and Practical Chemistry.  We also offer a variety of advanced and honors courses including Honors Biology, Honors Chemistry, AP Chemistry, AP Biology, and AP Physics.
