In order to
become a classified substitute with the Aurora Public Schools,
you must complete a classified employment application form. Application forms are filled
out on-line. If you do not have access to the Internet you may fill out an application at the classified
employment office at the ESC - 4 Building, 1085 Peoria
Street.
Clearly indicate what type of work you are seeking. You can choose "substitute only" or "any available" if you are applying for full-time employment but are willing
to substitute in the meantime.
- Two letters of recommendation must be filed with the substitute office.
Applications
are reviewed monthly and hiring decisions are made on a needs basis.
Candidates
who have complete applications and who pass an initial background
screening, will be invited to periodic orientation meetings to finish
employment requirements, including:
- Substitute
orientation and directions
- Fingerprinting
for background check purposes (fee is $49.50 at the substitutes
cost)
- Hiring
packet (forms)
- Child
abuse reporting training
