Many people struggle to reach perfection. Hinkley High School senior Kevin Bell has already reached it. Bell is one of only six Colorado students to earn a perfect score of 36 on the 2006 American College Test.

By scoring a perfect score, Bell will have a choice of the widest possible range of future educational options. “Right now I am considering the University of Denver if I remain in the state. I am looking at Stanford and a few other schools if I leave Colorado,” Bell said.

Bell may be the next Matt Lauer. He plans to major in communication and has aspirations of becoming a journalist.

Bell has also nurtured his creative side. He is a member of his school’s jazz band and writes and produces music in his spare time. Bell is also a Boy Scout and will soon earn the rank of Eagle Scout.

When Bell learned of the score, he was excited.

Hinkley High School senior Kevin Bell earns a perfect score on the ACT.

Bell has attended Aurora Public Schools since kindergarten. He attended Century Elementary and Aurora Hills Middle schools and is now a senior in the International Baccalaureate Program at Hinkley High School.

The ACT assesses English, reading and science skills. The national average for the graduating class of 2005 was 20.9. More than 49,000 Colorado students took the test in 2006.
