International Baccalaureate Students "Adopt-a-Highway" Along Colfax

The next time you notice a clean section of road while driving along East Colfax Ave. near Tower Rd., look closely for the nearest Adopt-a-Highway sign. International Baccaulaureate students from Hinkley High School have committed to keeping a two-mile stretch of its 26 tidy.

As part of their community service component, students in the International Baccalaureate program have decided to adopt a section of the longest commercial street in the United States. They hope that keeping their two miles of pavement and shoulder clean will inspire others to do the same. They visit the site three to four times a year to keep it free of debris.
