A group of Rangeview High School students earned top honors at the High School Project Citizen State Showcase recently at the State Capitol. Students Amy Babcock, Sarah Gerkhe, Alba Maldonado, Adam Olson, Erika Scott and Bergundi Wood tied for first place in the "Outstanding Overall Oral and Written Presentation" category. |

The annual state-wide event showcases the most outstanding Project Citizen portfolios from state high schools. The students spent the day at the capitol speaking with state legislators and policy experts about public policy proposals. |

Eighteen groups representing ten high schools participated in the showcase. |

This event was the culminating activity of Project Citizen, a civic education project in which students choose a current public policy issue, analyze alternative solutions, propose a policy, and develop an action plan for getting their policy implemented. |
